Few days - 8 months: Kala azar (leishmania) is caused a parasite which is spread by the bite of an infected sandfly. There are several forms of leishmania from different parts of the globe; each has it's own set of symptoms. Travelers are most likely to encounter a chronic, non-healing skin sore. Likely: Insect bites often sensitize people and the reaction tends to get larger with each bite.  If the lesions remains itchy, try some topical cortisone cream (wrapping the area with Saran Wrap after application may enhance the penetration). Use a cold towel instead of scratching the lesion to avoid infection. Oral steroid may be needed if the problem is severe. Use insect repellant in the future.

Probably no harm: Very difficult to look at the actual bright sun without your eye unconsciously shifting its gaze so no damage occurs.  Look up "Amsler" grid on the internet and see if your perception of the grid (following instructions) reveals any abnormalities (which I doubt).  Probably nothing to worry about.

See lines: How old are you and do you take any medications? Please let me know when you can to see if you need an OCT/macula evaluation or visual field.

Unlikely: I have heard anecdotes of people getting bitten by a bat while sleeping and not noticing it (not sure if true, however) but the possibility of an undetected bite on a fly-by while awake is nil.
