Yes: The purpose of a colonoscopy is to look at the entire inner lining of the colon.  The cleaner the colon is the better the results of the test.  Bowel prepping - taking a prescribed laxative to clean out the colon - induces diarrhea.  The idea is to get everything out of the colon so your doctor can visulaize as much of the colon as possible.  I often recommend desitin (zinc oxide diaper cream) to help protect the skin!

You can if...: The medication is prescribed by your physician, no previous allergy to vicodin, and the due date is current. You also must to know that you cannot mix vicodin with alcohol or with any of the monoamine oxidase inhibitors (antidepressants).
In any case it is prudent to consult with your anesthesiologist for final decision.

: No but she should take the PREP she is given to clean her out. The diarrhea will not last long  and she will have a good Study.

Clear fluids: A lollipop would be sufficiently hydrated by licking on it as to qualify for the "clear liquids" restriction prior to colonoscopy.

No: You supposed to be on clear liquids.  Apple sauce is not see through.  If it was just a little you may be ok, but doctor will see poop he may have to reschedule procedure and you will have to redo the prep again.

Liquids only: You can drink all the water you want. Some low residue foods like Jello are ok but no solids once you get to within 24 hours of the Colonscopic examination. You can drink tea and some of the sodas up until 12 hours before procedure...after that water only.
Your Gastroenterologist will have a standard instructions which you should obtain from him or his nurse and follow them exactly.after
