how do i overcome sleeping problems from having a newborn?

Sleep when you can: Newborn baby will disrupt mother's sleep until baby is able to sleep through the night. If having interrupted sleep is not working well for you, you will need to get someone else to help with night duties. If you are already predisposed to be sensitive to sleep disruptions, there is even greater urgency to have someone help take a shift.

May be normal: Straining or irregular stooling doen not mean constipation.The nb breast fed kid may go 7-10 days without a stool or poo a little at each meal.As long as it is soft, i don't consider that constipation. Their belly muscles are weak so they must use their breathing muscle/fuss &amp; look odd to push out their poop. since last night 23 nov we have never heard him cry like that. 
his is so restless at night. every time  he falls asleep its as if he is dreaming, what could be the problem?

Restless: causes for infant crying can be multiple. Colic upper respiratory infection GERD but all the possibilities that could inhibit sleep. could be a sleep wake cycle problem related to it's newborn State versus being in utero.

Why ?: Babies make a number of distinct noises that mean nothing. They have no social conscience so they don't know which noises you consider worrisome or offensive. Often such grunting aids them in propelling food along the digestive tract (their breathing muscle is strong). If the kid is otherwise feeding/resting/playing &amp; seems fine, just ignore it unless you think the kid has other signs of illness.

Not recommended!!!: The safest position for a new baby to sleep is on his/her back, as other position may increase risk of sid (sudden infant death syndrome). Please do not put your baby to sleep on his chest/belly. Many children do so on their own--when they are older and can physically turn themselves over while sleeping and can turn back when uncomfortable. Consult doc. Good luck.

Sleep association : You have a sleep association disorder. It is usually found in children, and the way to treat it is to gradually reduce the availability of the reassuring thing. So if someone were to spend time with you at bedtime, but leave before you fall asleep, come back if necessary, but leave again, over a few days you might get over it.

MAY NOT BE NORMAL: Causes can be nasal blockage, choanal atresia (means complete non-canalization of nasal passage); congenital heart disease; lung problems; congenital laryngeal web; tracheo-esophageal fistula, etc.
Check with the infant's pediatrician.

About 4 hours: Rule of thumb is that they should feed 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours for the first few weeks of life and should be awakened for feedings if they are not waking up on their own.  This ensures that they are getting enough calories each day.

Newborn: Not bad, if climate is cozy & comfortable, & the baby is monitored. Also, if u r comfortable there.
