Asthma: There can be many causes of wheezing, asthma is the most common. Bronchitis or a chest cold is another cause. If you are havibg trouble breathing go to an emergency room. If breathing is not hard go see your doctor soon.

Asthma : Having wheezing all night would be a concern you need to ask a doctor in person. It could be that you have an exacerbation and may benefit from an additional inhaler medication(s), or oral steroid.

i have a chest infection which i have been given a seven day course of amoxycillin for but find i am still displaying a productive/wheezing cough, do i need to return to my doctor or just give it more time?

: If you're experiencing frequent wheezing, coughing,&amp; raising copious discolored sputum, amox may not be enough treatment. Asthmatic bronchitis is a stubborn type of bronchitis which requires aggressive treatment with appropriate antibiotics, bronchdilator inhalers,&amp; corticosteroid inhaler as well as oral corticosteroids for as long as two weeks or more. I recommend being reexamined by your MD.

8mnth old recurrent wheezing,cud be asthma my paediatrician told me.m giving salbutamol nebs.its bronchiolitis at this time or asthma.steroid needed?

Hard to say: About 60-80% of wheezing infants quit by age 5, so the asthma label is difficult  to be sure of.The use of inhaled steroids is sometimes helpful as are oral,but steroid use in infants can depress immune and vaccine response.Actual treatment must be based on a better understanding of all the babies issues.

Chest constriction:  Are you in stress? If not, try chiropractic adjustment or a session with a osteopathic doctor to release the diaphragm (muscle that separates your chest from abdominal cavities). Otherwse, deal with stress.

Perhaps: Wheezing is the sound of air moving past an obstruction in your breathing tubes. Because airway narrowing in asthma is variable and reversible wheezing will be present at some times, absent at another. Your physician can use a stethoscope to listen to your breathing & determine if the sound you are hearing is really wheezing. Why not make an appointment today?

Occ wheeze: Would go to doc/ pulmonologist and be tested with pulmonary function tests (PFTs) to see if you have asthma. May also be seasonal as now is allergy season.Smoking is never good for the lungs.

i have acute bronchitis, from one week i am getting severe wheezing only night times. i am not able to breath properly. i am using forocort inhaler.

Wheezing w/bronchiti: May have associated reflux , therefore happening at night . Can try ranitidine and or prevecid  before bed. Would also elevate head of bed with pillow under mattress ( it will help you breathe anyway as compress lungs when lying down). May also be reactive airways due to bornchitis-elevating head of bed helps. f/u w/ doc
