Viral infection: and musculo-skletal pain. An upper respiratory tract infection or a cold can inflame your cervical lymphonode. It gradually goes down after your cold or URI is over. The neck and shoulder pain could be due to sleeping on your left side.  Take advil (ibuprofen) for the pain. It can take up to 10 days to get over the pain.

Possible: It is possible that an infectious disease present itself this way ( scrofula= TB infection of lymph node of neck, hiv, ect...) may present this way , other non infectious diseases may present this way also,  you should see your doctor for further evaluation.

Rare possibility: Side effects to this vaccine are rare but statistically possible. Your symptoms are listed as low possibility. Lymph nodes produce antibodies when the body begins to fight infection. Vaccines "trick" the body into thinking there is an infection so the antibodies are ready to attack the real virus quickly if it gets in you. See your MD this week as symptoms over a week.

is a 12th day negative on  hiv 1 rna test considered reliable (enough for me to not worry for a while). what are the chances of hiv 2? i still have symptoms like swollen neck lymph node and stiff neck

No..: Need to be tested at 3, 6m. Have to maintain abstinence to get a reliable result. If you have sex with HIV infected person 12th day negative is not a pass.

Ergonomics: Arrange computer station to minimize strain: monitor straight ahead or slightly below line of sight; keyboard at proper height; forearms supported; comfortable, adjustable chair. Take breaks to stretch & exercise neck & shoulder muscles. Use tylenol/nsaid judiciously. Moist heat to neck & shoulders. Neck massage by trained person (some even come to workplace).
