Shoulder pain: You may have tendonitis or simply an overuse syndrome if you're exercising a lot. If you are, avoid stressing the shoulder for a week to see if the discomfort resolves. Inform you parents of your symptoms if they don't improve.

Use pillows: Dear JenniScott,

Comfort is paramount when sleeping.  Sleeping on your side with a pillow between your legs and improve neck pain.  If you have lower back pain, using a pillow behind your knees to slightly elevate it can help back pain.  Avoid sleeping on your stomach as it cause lead to unwanted neck discomfort in the am.  A firmer bed or memory foam mattress may do the trick.  Happy sleeping!

See a Dr in person: A growth on the neck can be many things: An enlarged lymph node, cyst, salivary gland, or tumor. Since it is disturbing normal neck function and sleep, the safest course of action would be to have it examined by a Dr in person, where they can feel the mass and gauge its connections, location and any other abnormalities. The Dr may do a blood test, xray or other tests as well.

Neck strain: The most common cause of a stiff neck is a muscle strain/soft tissue sprain. It may also be accompanied by a headache, neck pain, shoulder pain and/or arm pain. In most cases, pain and stiffness go away naturally within a week. Persistent neck pain may indicate a postural bad habit. Try to elevate your computer screen or lift your phone up so your neck is not angled down. Use ice to ease pain.

Probable muscles: There are probably muscle spasms.  The question is why do the muscles cramp?  This can be related to your breathing, head posture, jaw joint or chewing efficiency, airway space, sleep disturbances, etc.  I would check with you physician or dentist to see if the answer to why the muscles cramp is discovered.  Then you will know what and how to treat.

Difficult to say: Hard to know what you mean by neck cramps. You could have an electrolyte imbalance due to medications, dehydration, or illness, but it could be spasms due to many other factors.  Cramping in the neck, in my opinion, is not a frequent ocurrence and would lead me to recommending you be seen and evaluatied.  Wry neck or torticollis or a "crick" in the neck is common and treated conservatively.

Stiff neck: FIrst, it would be important to know the cause of the stiff neck.  It just muscle strain, then some heat to the area, perhaps some massage therapy, and OTC med such as ibuprofen, may alleviate the pain and allow for sleep.  Avoid using a very high pillow, as well.  If simple measures don't help, you should see your provider to assess for other causes.
