is cerave a good moisturizer to use on the breast for pigmentation?

Excellent.: Cerave is an excellent moisturizer but not really useful when it comes to lightening of pigmentation. Continue to use cerave but consider adding in a lightening agent such as skinmedica lytera which has been proven helpful off face as well as on face for pigmentation.

white area of discoloration under my areola by nipple anything to worry about? all looks normal except this small white area causing me stress. dr did breast exam& felt no lumps color returns normal when nipple is hard. can this be pigmentation?

: Did you ask your doctor when she did the breast exam? Google the term "vitiligo", a common cause of patchy loss of skin pigment. It's harmless unless in a cosmetically sensitive location. If that doesn't fit -- or if it does and you remain concerned -- see a dermatologist. In the meantime, this doesn't sound like anything dangerous, like cancer.

: White or light discoloration of skin can be caused by trauma, fungal infection or dryness. It should resolve within a few weeks. See your Dr if it does not resolve in this time period. Cancer of the skin is typically darker and forms a raised mass. Cancer of the breast is usually felt as lumps and does not present as white/light patches.

: It is not likely that this is anything you need to worry about, but without at least a photo and possibly an exam it is impossible to correctly identify what you are looking at. This would be a vanishingly rare and highly unusual presentation for a breast cancer.

Tinea versicolor: This is a benign fungal infection. The fungus prevents even tanning that becomes more apparent upon getting sun exposure, particularly in the summer. You can treat it by applying a dandruff shampoo like Nizoral (ketoconazole) for 10 minutes before showering each day for 1-2 weeks. This will often eliminate the fungus and the skin color will then gradually even out upon additional tanning.

Whoa: First, tinea versicolor is a fungus, not a bacterium. Second, culture is famously unreliable as a means of determining that it's gone. Third, the fungus is ubiquitous and returns quickly -- you manage tinea versicolor long-term. Fourth, a single depigmented patch is unlikely to be tinea versicolor. Perhaps there is a misunderstanding or you need a second physician's opinion.

Many issues!: Many problems may be unrelated, but pcos needs to be excluded, because of it being a part of metabolic syndrome. You did not mention if you are overweight and carry it on the middle. Pcos is associated with high free (not total) testosterone, which could explain several issues.  Hyperpolactinemia is common, could cause sore breast, but is associated with scant or absent periods.  It needs checking.

Could be many things: Hormonal changes during your menstrual cycle and fibrocystic breast changes (lumpy, tender breasts) are common causes of breast pain. Pregnancy is another common cause, along with hormone replacement, large breasts, cysts, infection & inflammation. And sometimes what may seem to originate from the breast may actually be pain from somewhere else. If you suffer from breast pain, see your doctor.
