Discuss w your: Psychiatrist. Mood stabilizers include: lithium, valproate (valproic acid), Lamotrigine (lamitcal),  Carbamazepine (tegretol) ; off label meds such as topiramate (topamax), Gabapentin  (neurontin) ; Oxcarbazepine (trileptal).

hello,  i take lamictal 100 mg per day and ran out this morning. i will be without it for 2 days.  is there a natural altern. during this time?

No: Although I do not know why you are on lamictal, perhaps for bipolar or even epilepsy, when you abruptly stop such a drug, there can be a risk of withdrawal, especially seizures.  Best you are not off the meds, and see if you can contact a physician for a few day supply.  The drug is now generic and "lamotrigine" would suffice.  No otc equivalent exists.

Hi-dose SSRI, CBT: On the medication side, ssri antidepressants such as zoloft (sertraline) are the most used, often at doses higher than typically prescribed for depression.  It's also worth considering psychotherapy.  Cognitive-behavioral approaches such as cbt or erp (exposure and response prevention) are often helpful for ocd.

Natural: There are little safe and well studies 'natural' epilepsy treatments. None of the anti epileptic medications are truly natural. No herbal remedy truly has epileptic suppression in a way pharmacologically that makes since. Anxiolytics similar to valerian root have some benzodiazepine receptor agonism and therefore could aid in seizure suppression, but this is not recommended.

Many: Gabapentin, lyrica, (pregabalin) keppra, topamax, zonisamide and Oxcarbazepine are other drugs to consider.  They all work for partial seizures.  Also, take vitamin d.
