Post Nasal Drip: Greetings, post nasal drip can and should be treated with medicine first. Most common causes would be allergic and no allergic rhinitis. Fortunately both can be treated with over the counter medication. First try an antihistamine like cetirizine, fexofenadine or loratadine. All are once daily and should help quickly. Another option would be saline irrigation then finally an intranasal steroid.

Several: The most common complication is bleeding postoperatively. Other complications include septal perforations, scarring, loss of smell and taste as well as possible need for for further surgery. If you include sinus operations the complications there include potential eye injury, brain injury, and brain fluid leak. If your surgeon is very experienced and does lots of nasal and sinus surgery the risk of complication is significantly less.

It is quite safe, with the more common risks being anesthesia, bleeding, infection.

Nasal polyps: Sometimes.  I have often had success avoiding surgery by treating polyps with short periods of steroids, then placing patients on a steroid nasal spray to diminish recurrence.  This does not work with everyone, in which case surgery may be needed. Depends: Depends on how extensive the procedure and who is doing it. In my patients they have sponge in their nose overnight. That sponge is removed the next morning and they can go about their regular activities. Usually it takes a few days to feel "normal." i ask them not to engage in any activities that raise their blood pressure in the first week including sexual relations.
