Probably: Please understand that no birth control is 100 percent effective. You are never truly "safe."  every time you have sex, pregnancy and stds are still possible regardless of how long you have been taking birth control pills. Also, please realize that sperm is present long before ejaculation. Never depend on withdrawal, if pregnancy is an unacceptable risk or outcome for you. Consider adding condoms.

10 days: It takes 10 days for the hormones in an oral contraceptive to change your body's normal hormones enough for pregnancy to be prevented. Make sure you are using a non hormonal contraceptive method (condom, diaphragm, cervical cap, Phexxi) during this time to prevent pregnancy.

i have always struggled with my weight. i have considered starting birth control however are concerned that it will cause excess weight gain. does brith control cause weight gain and if so how much? is there any forms that dont?

: Today's tendency to use "low dose oral bcp's" are not associated with weight gain.  Reduced starches, sweets are helpful to minimize most weight changes.

It : It is very important to use an alternative form of birth control (like condoms) when taking antibiotics, and to be safe, for a couple of weeks after you are finished with your regimen. This is because some antibiotics can decrease the effectiveness of the birth control hormones. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor about whether or not the antibiotic you were taking decreases the effectiveness of birth control. If, not he/she may recommend that you take Plan B to avoid pregnancy.
Also, remember that birth control pills are not 100% effective.  Practice safe sex if you are not ready to have a baby.

Yes: Unless you have missed a pill in this pack or have reason to believe you are pregnant, continue on to next pack after placebo week. Also be aware that your next period might be heavier than usual.

Not likely: If it is in the uterus. Only if the iud perforated the uterus and the bowel, which is unlikely. I think you have to look at another cause.  At your age, the most likely cause is hemorrhoids, colitis, and infectious diarrhea. But all blood in the bowel should be evaluated by a doctor.

Generally: it has very few such effects, but it is quite variable. Also, it depends upon the exact hormone formulation. Discuss w/your doctor.

Pregancy!: I doubt that is the answer you wanted. Using birth control pills with high estrogen has long since fallen out of favor. Highly estrogenic birth control pills are no more effective than most lower estrogenic pills, and the side effects of having high estrogen can include weight gain, bloating, headaches, mood swings, etc. Not a good choice.

can switching birth controls make you sick?

Maybe: This can certainly occur as some pills have greater side effects than others, especially if they are a high dose pill.  If the pill is making you nauseous, then consider taking it at night.  The other thing that can make you sick is pregnancy - so be sure to take a test.
