i had gastric bypass almost 8 years ago over the past couple years ago i have had horrible leg cramps on the inside of my thighs they are horribly painful and also seem to happen when i have a lot of swelling in my legs relief?

bf is 2 mos. s/p r hemicolectomy (open). severe leg cramps wake him several times nightly. no leg swelling. he hydrates & eats fruit. what can he do?

He may need: To consider a muscle relaxor, like cyclobenzaprine, at night.  I would have him talk to his doctor.  Good luck.

can swelling on back of knee cause leg cramps or are the two unrelated? i wasnt sure if theres a nerve in back of knee or not. it cramps when not swollen too though. thank you.

Swelling in the back: The. Knee often is a sign of. Cartilage  Problems  in the knee!  Suggest you see

i  am feeling fatigue, occasionally dizziness swelling of calves&ankles., occasionally leg cramps. heart cath was good, leg circulation test was good what could be wrong

Heart: The heart cath and leg circulation test examine blood flow through your vessels.  Have you an echocardiogram as well?

ana titer of 1:160 and ana pattern: nucleolar, 70 years old, swelling of tongue, leg cramps, some numbness of feet but told to ignore tests, 2nd opinion needed as to what if any follow up needed?

See your fam doc: despite the tests results provided, the OTHER c/o's should be examined in greater detail in order to determine exactly what is ailing you. other diseases besides collagen vasc disease need to be considered as well with possibly further testings and examinations.

i have a venous us and see a vascular doc in a week for severe bilateral foot/ankle swelling attacks. the leg cramps/pain behind knee. ? how to sleep?

One of the concerns : Is a clot, a bakers cyst is another that comes to mind. A clot is serious if present and needs to be dealt with immediately. The question is did you already have he ultrasound or not? If you didnt go get it done...And do not wait a week. If you did and it was negative, i would call the doctors office anyway explain your ina lot of pain and ask to be seen earlier. 
Perhaps ice would help....

get frequent leg cramps at night (calf) and they are so severe that the pain last for weeks and i cannot walk properly. is it due to heart issues as i am diabetic/hypertensive? my urine is colorless even after drinking nothing. why?

See doctor: There are many possibilities for the cramping. The fact that you already have some serious medical issues. You should see a doctor for complete evaluation. Don’t second guess. See a doctor

Orthopaedic evaluate: If tightness/cramping occurs with activities (walking/jogging), you may have exercise induced exertional compartment syndrome. With this, the tightness and cramping should resolve with rest and usually is provoked and becomes symptomatic at a set time point (e.g., always at 0.5 miles into a run). More rare causes of cramping may be related to irregular blood flow. Seek an orthopaedic evaluation.

i just started taking the generic bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) for a uti & am having horrible leg cramps in my right leg. what's going on?

Difficult to tell: The two are likely unrelated, but without a full history and physical exam and possible testing the only thing to do is to go back to the doctor who prescribed the Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) and discuss with them.  In any event the pain in the leg should be looked at to make sure you have not developed thrombophlebitis with a clot in a deep vein.  Please go and be seen and hope you are better soon.

my urine smells really bad. it's cloudy and putting off a lot of heat. i also have a cramp in my left side that keeps coming back. what could be wrong?

Go see your doctor.: It's difficult to accurately diagnose you with such few details, but if you have changes in the appearance/odor of your urine, with cramping/pain in the flanks, you may have a kidney stone or a urinary tract infection, or something else. As a 26 year old female, you likely do not have any serious illnesses and those are the probable diagnoses but you should be evaluated by your primary physician.
