Soak, urea, liquid bandage: The skin is severely dry until it cracks open. For immediate relief soak thumbs until they are wet and then apply urea based cream sold for foot cracking. Another approach is after wetting skin is to apply johnson and johnson liquid bandage for immediate relief. You may have a contact allergy which needs to be identified by dermatologist.

Cracks in skin: These can be painful, I understand. Especially common in the drier, colder winter months. I recommend Eucerin Aquaphor ointment and you can put occlusion on it at night with a bandaid to help it heal, or at least not hurt as much.

It results from a combination of factors, both internal (e.g. Your genetic make-up), and external (e.g. Contact with irritants and allergens such as chemicals). Treatment is avoidance of allergens and topical steroids like vanos and emollients like cerave cream.

Dry skin: Sounds funny to say, but water is very drying.  Try a mosturizer at bedtime and wear gloves to keep the salve on.

Dyshydrotic  Eczema: Sounds like dyshydrotic  or contact eczema.  Try using a barrier hand cream (liquid glove).

Hand lotion: Please avoid any lotion that contains alcohol because it is drying.  Shea butter can be helpful.  Oil from the inside out by using a lot of olive oil and coconut oil if health is ok.  Peace and good health.

Olive oil: Avoid frequent hand washing .apply olive oil densely to both hands between washes. Do not use soap too often

avoid hot water use warm water then dry
avoid alcohol and perfumed soap
soaps like dove will not dry your skin
avoid putting perfume and alcohols in your hands
moisturize with quality moisturizers
