Return for follow up: If you have used the steroid pump consistently for a week and it has not helped, further evaluation is needed.  Most common causes of cough for 2 months would be recurrent viral infections, secondary bacterial infection not treated, sinus infection, GE reflux or asthma.  The steroid inhaler helps the asthma and residual inflammation from viral infections.

hi - my cest /throat feels like it's closing quite often. can it be caused of high cholesterol? i have also drank reflux tablets and i have taken asma pump to see if that might help. but it makes no difference.. what could be the cause?

Throat closing: The sensation of “throat closing” is most commonly due to anxiety, but you need a thorough medical evaluation to be sure.
   High cholesterol, asthma and reflux are not likely causes.

Sound like : Your pediatrician needs to be involved in reassessing your daughter's cough.  A years worth of cough is quite a long time and other things like gastroesophageal reflux, allergies/sinus issues may be at play and not respond to the types of treatment you mention.

antibiotics ; asthma: Clarithromycin is a macrolide class of antibiotic that effectively treats most upper and lower respiratory tract infections (not virus).  There is some evidence that it has "anti-inflammatory properties" and used to treat asthma. The primary treatment for persistent asthma is an inhaled steroid sometimes in combination with a long-acting bronchodilator.  An asthma specialist can assist in a plan.

i am a smoker and for this year i felt this cough and phlegm has never left me. i always have it and the tightness in chest happens 1 or 2 times a month then i take my husband's pump seraflo and it helps the tightness. when i breath in its raspy?

Avoid smoke: You may have a condition called COPD, and a pulmonary function test with Albuterol treatment to gauge the difference in airflow wit the medication is recommended. A chest image , sputum cytology and culture may also be ordered by your PCP.
In the meantime, continue to treat your cough and follow up with your PCP.

had a cough for 5days. doctor said i have a virus & gave me a blue & brown asthma pump for wheezing. today i coughed so much i vomited. is this normal?

No: Make sure you don't have whooping cough which can induce vomiting.  Have you received any whooping coughing vaccine (tdap) as recommended by cdc to protect you against this disease in the past 2 -3 years? 
An antibiotic may help if it is from whooping cough.
