can i know if the redness and uneven skin texture caused by bp permenant ? i've been using aloe as a mositurizer on the affected area for mths but have not seen any improvement. i stopped using bp for the time too. im really concern if it will fade.

Usually fades: I am assuming that the "BP" stands for Benzoyl Peroxide.  Any skin changes from this should be temporary.  An old fashion treatment that helps is whole milk soaks.  wrap ice in a wash cloth and then soak it in whole milk.  Apply this compress to the area twice a day for about 5 minutes each time.  This should help.

For your mouth: Toothpaste is formulated to be used in your mouth. If you have redness outside of your mouth please see your physician.

Accepted Answer

Be patient.: Generally, time is your best ally; of course you must avoid repeat burning.  In many of my patients over the years, skin care products containing green tea extract have helped to reduce the time needed for the red to fade.

Too general.: There are so many causes of redness or inflammation that we cannot possibly give you an intelligent answer without more information. If the rash is sudden or widespread, you should see a dermatologist and get a definitive diagnosis and treatment.

Accepted Answer

Be gentle: If you experience redness or skin irritation after a facial, probably the products used were too harsh for your skin. Avoid any skin care products, cleanse your skin with water only, and you may try a gentle moisturizer like cetaphil in am til skin has healed. Check with your aesthetician on what chemicals used in your facial may have caused this and avoid in future.

Dry? rash? history?: Your skin may be dry, especially if you've been out in the sun a lot, or there may be something more going on. Is there a rash, or just vague/generalized redness? Any other symptoms? Exposure to any foods, plants, chemicals? Any medications or medical conditions? Try moisturizer lotion 2-4x/day for a few days, and if not getting better, get checked by a dr.

my 3 yo got a bug bite a week ago. all that's left is two small red dots flush to the skin. should i be concerned? no redness around them.

Bug Bites: Although bug bites can be dramatic and even hurt when you get bit, most heal well as you describe.  You have looked for all the concerns  that would signal an infection, like surrounding redness or swelling.  It appears that this is healing well and it may take some time for the small red dots to completely resolve.

Cat: if it is an adult cat then generally no need for concern cat scratch disease is from kittens that scratch and the nearest lymph nodes can get inflamed and swollen no treatment is generally required it tends to heal on its own

Rosacea: Although rosacea can vary substantially from one individual to another, flushing and persistent redness are by far the most common initial signs of the disorder. Treatment includes topical prescription medications like metrogel, or finacea, or bionect. Oral medication like Oracea is also very helpful.

can i put baby powder on skin which was affected by irritant dermatitis-not dry anymore.dont itch but still red-will powder minimize redness n fade it?

I suggest moisturize: With something like eucerin calm. Be diligent and patient!
