Lungs and sinuses...: ...Are both parts of the same airway, lines with the same types of cells, exposed to the same irritants and infections, so yes, the two are most probably related.

is sinus bradycardia always a sign of an underlying health issue?

Absolutely not!: Virtually all seasoned athletes have sinus bradycardia. Many  normal, healthy non-athletes do as well. Virtually everybody has SB at sometime during sleep.

i work really hard to help my kids stay active and eat right. now one has a diagnosis of cavernous sinus tumor. what else can i do so that it doesn't affect overall health?

Healthy nutrition: The typical american diet is inflammatory. Scientist are beginning to study the original human diet which consists of lean meats, fish, vegetables, nuts and berries. Called the ancestral diet, this diet is non-inflammatory and is being shown to be healthy. Although it is tricky to manage our children's diets, there is now a book that may be of help called paleo pals.

It is so rare: I think it would be difficult to say. My guess is that you were having a CT scan or MRI for some facial or sinus symptoms and this was incidentally reported. It would have been present your whole life...it is the result of lack of development in the embryo/fetus. Reportedly it occurs in only 0.026% of people..too few to study. The presence of this shouldn't impact your evaluation or treatment.

i believe i may have a sinus infection. i have been congested for weeks on one side of my nose and no matter how much medicine i've taken it hasn't gotten much better. i'm going on a trip and just want to be in good health before leaving.

Doctor can evaluate: Bacterial (not viral) sinusitis is treated with antibiotics to kill bacteria in the sinuses, plus a decongestant (often a combination such as Claritin-D or Zyrtec-D), and a steroid nasal spray such as mometasone to shrink some of the swelling inside the nose... to allow the sinuses to properly drain. Do not know: Without knowing whether it produced neurologic changes, whether it was unilateral or bilateral, whether other intracranial sinuses were also involved, what the underlying cause and the bacterial etiology it is difficult to predict long-term effects.

1-2 times daily: There is no hard and fast rule to how often you should do this.  In general, once or twice daily is quite helpful for cleansing nasal passages and reducing allergens in the nose.  You should keep your neti pot very clean and make fresh saline daily. Then you should not have issues with infection.

if your in good health and take 2.5mg bisoprolol for sinus  tachycardia can you go jogging and go to the gym and keep active ?

That sounds fine.: You can exercise on a beta-blocker, yes.  Just realize that your heart rate will not rise as you may expect, though, for the degree of exercise.  Keep yourself hydrated to prevent your blood volume from contracting too much.
