im having flank pain on my right back side. hurts when i push on the area. im also having cloudy urine. ive felt ill today, loss of appetite and extremely tired/sleepy. could this be a kidney infection? i recently had a ct contrast dye scan?

Many reasons ...: Low right back pain can be a symptom of many different things, including muscle strain, arthritis, kidney infection, kidney stones, sciatica, or tumors. I'd suggest seeing your doctor for examination and further discussion to help figure out what exactly is the problem and what can and should be done about it.

the last lower rib on my back, right side hurts. constant dull to sharp pain. seems to be getting worse over time. is there a lymph node there, ideas?

Rib pain: Often just a twisted rib and not serious but sometimes a warning of something deeper. See you doc if a hot bath with epson salts added doesn't clear it up.

im very skinny and weak, my life is very sedentary. when i lift things up or exert energy my back on right side hurts or feels like i pulled something. pain goes away eventually. hurts like over my right ribs in my back. is it tight muscles?

Pulled muscle: what you are describing is a pulled muscle - more likely if you are sedentary - at your age you should be quite healthy with strong muscles -

Strain: Strain should heal with rest. Should get checked out to make sure it is nothing more serious like herniated disc. Rest.

: Discuss it with your doctor as soon as you can and perferably within the next 24 hours. With your doctor's help you can get treatment which may include being assessed at the hopsital.

Several options: Back pain is usually related to arthritic changes to the spine.  Sometime back pain can be related to infections, cancer, fractures, or even other organs such as the kidney, bladder, etc.  If your pain lasts greater than 2 weeks i would see your physician.

what can i take if the side of my back hurts?

Any Nsaid, like the : Aleve (naproxen) or Ibuprofen (provided you have no allergy or side effects to these meds) would be helpful. Sometimes a muscle relaxer is helpful, along with a heat/ice pack also is helpful.
If no relief after 3-5 days, see your pcp.

Need more info: There are many things that can cause your pain. I would need to know if there was any injury like a fall or a blow to your back. or a bad sprain .Kidney problems may also be thought of. Please make an appointment with your family physician to find out the answer to your question.
