Just a thought: sounds a bit like METATARSALGIA  pain in the head of the metatarsal bone, 4th 5th toes.....
An in person visit would be helpful since there is usually POINT TENDERNESS over that bone..

Foot veins.: Foot veins are very common and tend to increase in size for many reasons including standing for long periods of time, increased hydration, increased exercise, hormonal changes and even aging.  Usually elevating the feet will decrease the veins.  Support hose will help.  If the veins persist then they can be treated by sclerotherapy or removal through tiny microincisions.

It could be...: An arthritic lump of bone over a joint that also has a nerve running over it.  This could produce the sensations you describe.  See a podiatrist for details and a personalized exam.

Many possibilities: Have a professional evaluate it.  A good history and physical exam along with some radiologic exams will determine the problem and course of treatment.

Try NSAIDS: At your age, arthritis is a small possibility but more likely you have some inflammation. Proper shoewear can help. Painkillers may not help because they do nothing for the inflammation. You need to try an anti-inflammatory ( ibuprofen, alleve, etc).
