Apohysitis/Flat feet: Ask your daughter where it hurts her exactly. If she points to the bottom or back of her heel, then she has wants known as severs disease. This is common in kids and most people chalk it up to "growing pain". However, it is very painful to the kid. Usually an orthotic device will help. X-rays will also show inflammation as well. There are other growth plates that inflame in feet as well. C a dpm.

First: Make sure you dont have any clots in your legs, by getting an ultrasound of the veins and are doing everything you can to have a healthy heart, kidney and liver which will effect swelling in your legs and the ache. Ask your doctor to test you for diabetes as well. Good luck! the cause is key-treatment depends on it.

Possible,not likely.: The medical term for what you were told is radicular pain. When true, most instances are best treated/resolved by leaning basic anatomy &amp; exercises which relieve the compression; e.g. traction/decompression &amp; the Robin McKenzie methods (NOT surgery). However given symptoms only in toes, Diabetic neuropathy is also major possibility or pain related to only feet, footwear &amp;/or foot usage issues.

You : You may want to consider visiting a podiatrist (foot doctor) for consultation for a pair of custom orthotics. These can be worn in your boots, and may be the answer to your sore feet. If you are diabetic or are possibly diabetic then you could be dealing with a neuropathy (nerve damage) this causes burning and pain usually in the feet and legs. If this is the case your doctor can prescibe medication that will help ease this type of pain.

Diet;Exercise: It is not unusual to gain weight after you stop smoking.You need to consult a nutritionist to start low calorie diet, including vegetables, salad, low in carbs especially simple sugars, stop sodas;juices, inclde whole grains etc.And get into an exercise program at least  times a week
the key is proper diet and exercise.Go slow with exercise and get checked by your doctor about leg pain before exercise.
