it's been some days that i feel my eyes are very dry and are also painful. what can be done?

Dry eyes &amp;...: Your eyes sound dry, but your eyelids may also be contributing to eye surface irritation. Try frequent preservative-free artificial tears every 1-2 hours daily for several days. Also a moderately hot washcloth applied for 10' 2-4 times/day followed by gentle eyelid massage with the washcloth can aide the eyelid oil glands to flow better. The doxy-/mini-cycline u r taking may help but can dry too.

my eyes are very dry and red and it burns a little especially when i watch tv or on pc. what is wrong with me?

Dry eyes: Your eyes are dry and need treatment.  Use over-the-counter artificial tears (not allergy or get the red out drops - they make it worse).  If this does not work, see an ophthalmologist

Could be many things: Red eyes could mean many things. If it is dry eyes then artificial tear drops, gels or ointments should temporarily provide relief. If this does not work you should see your eye doctor to ensure something else's is going on. Redness that spreads to the other eye could be pink eye (viral conjunctivitis), allergy or infection. See your eye dr if artificial tears do not work.

: Related to how your tear production system is working and the humidity and pollen count-maybe.  Your body is talking to YOU. Listen and take good notes.  Discuss there with your Dr. Eg I would. Record daily humidity and pollen count and you symptoms to see if u can see relationship.

Allergic eye disease: Your description sounds most consistent with allergic conjunctivitis with related eye irritation.  I would try cool compresses, chilled artificial tears, and topical and/or oral anti-allergy meds.  If no improvement or worsening, i would go see an eye doctor for further evaluation.

is omega 3 supplement or cod liver oil good for dry eye treatment?  if so which is better and how much? i eat salmon but only once or twice a month - not enough. eyes are very dry from ac and being indoors. using systane and thera tears.

Dry eyes: I recommend omega 3 supplements, 4-6 capsules daily. When you eat fish, stick to the small oily fish like sardines because they are higher in omega 3 and have less mercury.

Many reasons: You could have dry eye syndrome due to age, use of medications or associated with other disorders such as arthritis.  See an ophthalmologist for management.

See ophthalmologist: Dry eye problems can be caused by a number of things. Hormonal chnages, rheumatoid diseases, immune diseases, allergies and medications are common causes. Wind, low temperatures, and environmental pollutants can be a factor. See your ophthalmogist for treatment.
