my eyes are really dry and the corner of the inside of my eye is red and purple and burns what could it be?

Many possibilities: Inflammation from a virus, dry eyes, infection are all possible. Artificial tears will sooth all of these, but you should see an eye doctor for diagnosis and proper treatment.

Angular blepharitis: Probably a flare up of some blepahritis.  Try warm compresses to the closed eyelids for 5 minutes twice daily, and  clean the lid area with diluted baby shampoo. You may need to see your ophthalmologist for treatment with an ointment or drop.

Most likely...: Most of the time this is cause by a virus and warm compresses can help with symptoms. However if the eyes are painful, the light bothers you or having trouble with vision you need to be checked as soon as possible.

Usually not: Pink eye in general means that you have a severe virus that causes significant itchiness. Most people however with a little bit of eye redness have an unstable tear film from blepharitis. Many possibilities: A simple red eye can be literally hundreds of things.  But in general if it is only red with no other symptoms like pain, itching, irritation, tearing, discharge, blurred vision it is unlikely to be anything to worry about.  Watch for other symptoms and if they occur you should see an eye doc.
