?using Q-tips?: The most common cause of ear bleeding is due to an abrasion in the canal skin from a q-tip or other object placed in the ear.  The black particles may be bits of dislodged scab.  Another possibility is a fungal infection which produces spores---little black dots.  This can be painless.  Have your doc take a look!

Ear trauma: Even Q-tips can cause injuries to the ear.  They can impact the wax, cause tears in the canal, and even damage the ear drum.  Do not put anything else in his ear.  He should have it checked by his primary care, ENT, or an urgent care to determine how much damage has been done.

It's most likely an INTERNAL hemorrhoid which has clotted and is shrinking...

It will slowly go away! if it does not your PCP can look with an "anoscope"
