Bugs: When this happens, you should think of abnormal amounts of bacteria in your stomach and/or small intestine. An assessment using a lactulose breath test by your doctor can provide some answers. You may have a sluggish motility of the stomach and/or the small bowel that will need treatment.

Not normal: You should see the Doctor who prescribed for your GERD. Your symptoms are concerning! A virus most likely but ODOR of your "burps" DEFINITELY abnormal!

i am unable to burp recently and my breathe started to smell bad. the gas inside trying to come out. but i cannot make a burp sound or feel relief.

Normally: when there is gas build up within the esophagus and/or stomach the valve at the top of the esophagus (upper esophageal sphincter) relaxes to release this pressure. Like many sphincters, it is controlled by smooth muscle which may not function perfectly. It could be classified as a motility/movement disorder of the GI tract. If it persists, I would see a gastroenterologist for endoscopy/evaluation.

Sulfur Gases: The terrible smell of sulfur burps is caused by hydrogen sulfide (h2s). The gas is known to originate from certain foods that contain sulfur proteins in them. During the process of digestion these proteins are broken down in the gastro-intestinal tract by sulfur-reducing microbes. Try altering your diet, and if persists, then seek medical evaluation as some infections can also cause it to happen.

Stomach/ gallbladder: Could be related to hydration status or diet. Ulcers, gastroesophogeal reflux or gallstones/gallbladder problems can all act like this. Adding probiotics to diet May be beneficial, but a physical  by a Dr and obtaining  history of you/family would help. If stomach or gallbladder problems run in the family, it could be that. An ultrasound of the gallbladder and checking blood/ urine would help too.

Bowel rest: Start with 24 hours of fluids only -no usual food items.
Then start the Brat diet. B for bannanas, rice, applesauce, tea and toast. This is a soft diet to let the bowel rest and heal itself.
If you still have diarrhea can take Imodium over the counter from the pharmacy. If still having the runs see a doctor for stool culture and sensitiviy testing at the lab. Michigan water supply should be fine.

Various things: This can be with seen with change in diet or a food intolerance such as lactose intolerance. If there is accompanying foul smelling stools/diarrhea, then causes such as gluten sensitive enteropathy (celiac disease), irritable bowel syndrome, various infections of the GI tract, or IBD (Crohns and/or Ulcerative colitis) should be considered. This a relatively non-specific symptom.

Burp smelly: If the burping is not too frequent compared to other people, then it may not be a case of gastric reflux, which needs treatment. The odor of the burp is never an issue. What a person brings up into the mouth never taste good neither does it smell good, simply=what is below should stay below!
