Ankle sprain.: Yes it is quite possible to have associated small ( or chip ) fracture with it. An x-ray of the ankle will help exclude a fracture.

Foot sprain: Use ice packs,20 min at time,several times daily for 2 days. Wrap it with an Ace bandage (elastic bandage). When you are sitting keep it elevated.
