Give it a day or two: Could be an ear infection. If your child has no other symptoms and the fever responds to Motrin or tylenol, (acetaminophen) then i would give it a day or two and see if it resolves. If it does not, see a doctor.

What other sx ?: Fever @ a 102 level is common in infants & toddlers with a wide variety of minor and some significant illnesses. I find tylenol (acetaminophen) can give comfort & take a degree off a temp, but any resolution will be the illness going thru its cycles.If baby is playing some & taking fluids well enough to wet every 6hrs, u may be able to ride this out at home. If quiet, taking poorly etc. Call in & or see the dr.

my ten month old has a fever of 100.8 what should i do i gave him medicine but its still not helping. he also has a runny nose and coughing?

: There is no reason to do anything. Fever at this level isn't harmful at all. Probably he just has a cold, but it could be COVID and he (and other family members) should be tested for it. Contact the child's pediatrician for advice. Good luck.

my 10 month old has had a fever since this morning. we have given her 125mg empaped suppositories 6 hourly however her temperature spikes again around 38.75. she has a blocked nose, is chewing her gums and tugging at her ear. please advise?

Fever +: May have concurrent teething (chewing gums) and virus (fever, earache, stuffy nose). Empaled suppositories not recommended for children under 1. Fever actually a body function to help fight virus, but try to keep it below 39. Talk to Pediatrician about techniques to reduce fever.

Or to doctor: A 10 month old with that high a fever should be seen by a doctor. Check with your family doctor or pediatrician to see if they can see the baby before taking the baby to a hospital.

Depends: The fever often depends on the type of germ involved & where it is located.Many infant illnesses are viral & fever will last several days before recovery. As long as baby is taking in enough fluids to wet every 6hrs or better, is playful for much of the day & has no specific symptoms you can  let it run its course. If baby can't seem to be playful at all, looks sickly or otherwise spooks you go in.

I think she’ll be ok: As a physician and mother of five children I have seen that teething can cause fever. So please use tincture of time in this case. If other symptoms evolve then it’s important to talk to your doctor. But often, tincture of time heals all or if something serious is a mess then it will rear its ugly head in time.

Pediatric Fever: You can use either Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for fever control.  Remember this is treating the symptom.  Fever up to 36 months can be a sign of bacterial infection in the blood and should be evaluated by a physician.

Yes: Any child under the age of one year with fever and changes in behavior, either physical or mental or both should be seen urgently by a pediatrician. Please call your pediatrician and have her seen asap or go to an er.

Infectious Illness: Hard to know which one. If you can control her fever with Tylenol and keep her hydrated with small amounts of Pedialyte frequently, hopefully she will do fine. If not, have her seen. All the best.
