Mustard food allergy is a reaction to the proteins in the mustard seed.  This is an up-and-coming food allergy that can be severe.  However, it's still safe to swim in the icky pool if desired.

Unclear: It is possible that it is simply the spiciness.  But also possible is a food cross reactivity.  Does this happen at all times of the year?  Or only during a pollen season?  Some foods will cross react with pollens and give symptoms during the pollen season.  It is not a true allergy though.

Medicines such as Claritin otc, zyrtec otc, or prescription eye drops and nasal steroid sprays are helpful. Allergy shots are another option.

Also allergy shots or new sublingual tablets.
