No, but.....: Neuropathy does not cause muscle pain directly. However severe pain of any source can lead to reflex muscle spasm that may present as muscle pain. If the initiating cause is controlled , the pain arising from muscles can get better

Bad Back: Unfortunately,  back pain can take a really long time to improve with or without nerve injury however, if your symptoms persists longer than 2 months, you should ask for a referral to see a spine specialist. Take care!

Very Unnerving...: Most definitely, damage to a nerve supplying a muscles will cause the muscle to show varying degrees of degeneration. Several examples could include polio, muscular dystrophy, Lou Gehrig's disease and traumatic severing of the nerve.

Exam, emg/ncv: A good history and exam by a doctor as well as a possible EMG/nerve conduction test can be used to come down to this diagnosis.  Symptoms could include numbness, weakness, or tingling in the thenar area.

VItamin and drug: Vitamin b is great nourishment for nerves. I usually recommend vitamin b complex to my patients. Another alternative in prescription Lyrica (pregabalin) or Neurontin (gabapentin).

Nerve damage: Weakness of the thenar muscles leads to weakness in grip, opening jars, and difficulty with daily hygiene. Occupational therapy can rebuild strength in the hand. See a neurosurgeon for evaluation of the weakness.

Nerve damage?: From what you describe, there is no clear connection to nerve damage indicated. But even if your Dr is right that you suffer anxiety - it is worth correcting. Consider an eval for CBT psychotherapy where you'll learn skills to manage anxiety. Don't worry or suffer - learn ways to help yourself.

it began whilst i was doing yoga, i feel i may have done nerve damage to my lower back to cause the severe aching of the whole muscle area of my calf/including the front. its been present since august & it has been constant. stretching aggravates it.

Leg pain: You MAY have hurt yourself doing yoga.  Please start w/seeing your doctor.  He/she MAY suggest physical therapy.  You need to make sure you are not currently doing some type of exercise that continues to irritate whatever may have been done.  Turmeric is a good natural anti-inflammatory after you know what you are dealing with. Peace and good health.
