May not ever return: Ovarian cysts generally develop during each menstrual cycle, in young women. Frequently one cyst per cycle becomes dominant and may enlarge to the point of discomfort prior to ovulation. There are many other causes of pelvic pain (scar tissue, endometriosis, infection).  There is a good chance that your cysts may play only a small role in your pain.  Cyst removal/ surgery may not always be needed.

Anything: Pain can be due to ovulation or infection.
Multiple cysts could mean pcos.
Talk to your doctor as an infection in your age must be treated aggressively to prevent tubal complications.

Surgery: The treatment for a dermoid cyst is surgical removal.  You need to see your doctor to discuss surgery.

Yes for sure: PCOS is more than just ovarian cysts it is also hormone abnormalities . irregular menses and insulin resistance.

i think i have endometriosis! the doctor wonts to do a laparoscopy but i'm afraid of more scarring and not being able to conceive anymore! should i proceed? i also have multiple ovarian cyst on my right ovary and can't seem to get rid of them!

Endometriosis ?'s: Endometriosis can be diagnosed by laparoscopic biopsy done at the time of menstruation, but to prevent more adhesions, which can arise from endometriosis, start oral BCP's and take them punctually. If pregnancy is difficult to achieve, ask your GYN about a hysterosalpingogram ( HSG) to make certain your tubes are open.

i've had multiple ovarian cysts rupture over 4 months.nothing helps the pain! i have sharp stabbing pain and feel like vomiting. what should i do?!

Call your OB NOW: U need evaluation, as you may need a laparoscopy to see if anything else is going on like endometriosis, and you need appropriate pain meds for now and then if it is really from cysts you need to get on suppressive therapy like contiuous birth control pills , depo- Provera (medroxyprogesterone) , etc, there are differnet preventative options for u.

can you have normal testosterone and estrogen levels with multiple ovarian cyst and still be considered to have pcos?

Yes: Pcos is a clinical syndrome.  It is not diagnosed by blood test results, though high male hormone levels, or other tests suggestive of Insulin resistance, can support the diagnosis.  If you have problems with irregular periods, weight gain, excess hair growth, you can be diagnosed with pcos, despite normal lab results.

i don't have pcos but ct showed bilateral multiple ovarian cysts (small).chances of pregnancy?never missed a period.no pain.will it resolve?

Accepted Answer

All women have: Ovarian cysts from prior egg ovulation. It does not mean  pcos, which is a totally different condition. Don't worry, you're probably totally normal.

no menstrual cycle, rapid weight gain, multiple ovarian cysts, all blood tests are very normal. can this be pcos, hypopituitarism, or hypothyroidism ?

Amenorrhea: No menstrual cycles for how long? Are you pregnant? You definitely need more work up.
