Multaq: the name is Dronedarone, no generic in the USA as far as I know

: I assume you're taking multaq for the prevention or treatment of a fib or other supraventricular tachyarrythmias. Are you currently in persistent a fib with a rapid ventricular response?  If so, have you been on continuous anticoagulation?  Electric cardioversion can get you back in sinus rhythm. Ablation is another possible treatment for persistent a fib. Digoxin used appropriately controls rate.

Caution!: Chlorthalidone almost ALWAYS causes a low potassium which will un-do the beneficial effects of MulTaq. They're not contraindicated but you MUST have your potassium monitored and supplemented as needed to stay above 4.0!

No: I would advise you to see a doctor because Multaq is not indicated for or useful for controlling BP - it's used to maintain sinus rhythm in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.

Possible: Yes, Multaq can inflame the liver and cause elevated alt - follow  your doctor's instructions. Depending on your total health history and the degree of elevation and other blood tests, it may be continued and the test repeated at a later date, or it may be stopped.

kindly asking write now using amiodarone for paroxmal afib in a maintenance dose of 300 to 400 mg so electrophysiologist advice on trying dronedarone as asafe drug than amiodarone but im confused with starting dose of multaq as 200 or 400 bid safety?

: You have to abide by the advice of your electrophysiologist here especially where you're switching from amiodarone without omitting it for a day or two before starting multaq. The iodide component has been taken out of multaq giving it a better tolerance than amiodarone, but it's felt to be less effective than amiodarone by many of us who have seen it used.

There alternatives: It's good that you have been in normal rhythm after chemical cardioversion. There are other medications other than amiodarone and multaq. Talk to a heart rhythm specialist (electrophysiologist)

i've had 2 cath ablations and take multac  but still am in a-fib 25%  being in a-fib makes me very tired.   should i have another ablation?

Discuss with cardio.: I am a bit worried that you persist in atrial fibrillation after ablations and multac. May consider anti-coagulation at this point.

Usually: The major complications with viagra (sildenafil) involve nitrates. Multaq should be ok.
