Very thick: It is very thick in response to the progestin dominant component of the birth control.  Natural progesterone also can thicken the mucous,  natural estrogen thins the mucous around the  time of ovulation to allow sperm to move through the cervix more readily.

: Probably vaginal secretion. Why hard to say. Looks like you have problem remembering your pills. Suggest you seek another birth control method

Yes: Nexplanon and all progestin methods of birth control prevent pregnancy by thickening the cervical mucus, preventing entry of sperm. It makes complete sense that cervical mucus would change after getting explaining placed. You only need to worry if there is a odor associated with your discharge or symptoms like pain.

is is normal to have a period with little or no blood but only mucus-like clots? i am on birth control so might i need to change pills?

Mucus like period: Check urine  blood HCG,  sometimes the pill does not  work. Note  sometimes with pills there is a decrease/ack of periods.Also check thyroid, prolactin level and for polycystic ovary syndrome. Discuss w/ doctor the addtional tests and switching ( some people do not mind the lack of period-but note it may take up several months after stopping BC for period to resume due to pituitary supression)

Missing period?: A missing period (amenorrhea) is always a cause for concern and needs investigation by a GYN MD. If pregnancy is not a concern then there are other medical conditions that can cause a lack of menses including hypothyroidism. (low thyroid levels). See a GTN MD soon.

Skip period: Sounds like the expected withdrawal bleeding.  I would let the period finish it's course.  Use contraception in the meantime (condoms) and start the pill again with the next cycle.

Yes: The pill works to suppress ovulation, modulate the lining of the inside and thicken the cervical mucous.  Some women will still occasionally ovulate on the pill.  This is probably what happened to explain the clear, stretchy cervical discharge.

hi i just started birth control 2 weeks ago and i went poop and there was no blood in the bowl but when i wiped this mucus came out and it was bloody i looked and i haven't had any spotting or anything like that?

: If was fresh blood only on the paper it was most likely from a benign cause such as hemorrhoids or anal fissure. I don't think inflammatory bowel disease is an issue here.   If blood with or after a BM continues,your gynecologist can examine your rectum and advise you.  He/she may then refer you to a proctologist or gastroenterologist if deemed advisable.
