Yes: Mucinex D tablets contain a combination of guaifenesin and pseudoephedrine. You can safely add Aleve or other NSAID safely.

: A person is considered "intolerant" of a medication that causes such side effects, not allergic. Here the decongestant added to the Mucinex may be the culprit. Decongestants can elevate heart rate and blood pressure along with other symptoms. The general rule is if it hurts when you do that----don't do that.

Caution: you better try the plain mucinex though, as the 'D' part, pseudoephedrine may interact with promethazine. or don't take them at the same time

today i was told i could take sudafed and mucinex d together. took mucinex d 12 hour at noon and 2 sudafed every 4 hours. that's 240 mg of pseudoephedrine in like 12 hours. am i going to be ok? is this bad? just realized it has the same ingredient

No more Sudafed: Please do not take any more pseudoephedrine. 240mg is the maximum daily dose of this drug. If you have high blood pressure, this is a dangerous drug and should be avoided.  A fast, irregular, pounding heartbeat, mental or mood changes like anxiety, confusion, restlessness, shaking, difficulty urinating, as well as swelling, difficulty breathing, itching all need immediate evaluation.

accidentally took 2 pills of 12 hour mucinex d maximum strength instead of 1. 1200mg guaifenesin & 120mg pseudospheine hcl per pill. what is the risk of too much? can i take more after 24 hours since i took the two? what should i do?

MucinexD: The pseudoephedrine component is a stimulant, can cause increase in heart rate, blood pressure and cause shakiness. If you note none of these side effects you should be able to take a dose after 24 hours.

is it good idea for smokers to take mucinex-d everyday? it makes u cough up more phlegm so wouldnt it make u cough up more tar and other junk as well?

Hi John,BP check: Hi John, please check with your primary doctor to see if you can take Mucinex (guaifenesin) D for more than a few days as the D ingredient   can raise your BP.  It's  safer to take the plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) (without D). Kind regards.
