Ligaments tendons: Mri is the best way to look at the tendons or ligaments. Also, bone bruises and even subtle fracture can be seen with MRI that are not detected with xray or even ct.

Epicondylitis: Injections in themselves create an inflammatory response at the site. I think you just have this - given the swelling and pain that is still there. The steroid is supposed to reduce this as well as help the underlying issue.  It would be good to know the time since the injection.

Antiinflammatory meds like ibuprofen may decrease inflammation of the nerve, bracing to avoid keeping the elbow bent, especially at night, and doing flexion and extension exercises of the hand at the wrist may stetch the tissue and give some relief. Maybe: They say time heals all wounds. It is possible however that some of the symptoms will improve, and others will not. As long as there's no serious damage that requires physical therapy or surgery, it should be fine to proceed with activity as tolerated after a short period of rest.
