: It is best to have persistently painful joints looked at, rather than ordering tests first.  Depending on what one is looking for, the best test may be an X-ray.  The physical exam and a good history will suggest likely possibilities.  Best wishes.

i'm schedule for an mri w/ and w/o contrast of brain and cervical spine in three weeks. i'm not vaccinated yet but would like to be. could getting the vaccine before the exam be a problem? they're looking for demyelination.  thank you?

: An appointment for MRI studies is NOT a contraindication for a vaccination of any type.  If you were to have a reaction, typically would last no more than 3 days.  Get your COVID-19 protection ASAP.

i had 109 ml of omnipague 350 for a chest ct three weeks ago. i also had a brain mri three days ago with 8ml of gadobutrol/gadolinium bolus for a brain mri. how long do these contrasts stay in your system? i didnt realize how bad contrasts could be?

Not bad for you: Neither are bad for you.  The omnipaque May last 48 hours. Gadolinium about the same.

i've had gerd my entire life just these past three months it's gotten chronic. sore and pain in the throat for three months. medication with no effect my ent doctor ordered an mri neck with contrast will i get any answers from this ?

We don't know: your history well enough to predict that. However the fact that an ENT specialist ordered it probably means that s/he wants to rule causes in or out. Take care.

MRI contrast is safe: For a person without liver or kidney disease (you'd know if you had this), gadolinium contrast is easily removed from the body. So that part is no worry. But why did you need three such expensive exams so close together, is the main question.

Muscle strain: With that much evaluation to your abdominal area it is unlikely to be more than a poorly healing muscle strain or tear however if the pain is intermittent then you may have a gallbladder that is poorly functioning or a lack of blood flow to your intestines. Please continue to see your provider till the problem is found.
