If severe, get help: There ae lots of things in your abdomen. On left side is colon, kidney, intestines, spleen, testicle. In some kids the appendix is over on the left side (right side more common), his guts could be twisted inside themselves. If he is in severe pain, made worse by movement, this may be an emergency, or something very simple like constipation. But severe abdominal pain always needs evaluation, now!

If these are recurring symptoms consult your physician or a gastroenterologist for evaluation &amp; advice. Appropriate testing will be ordered.

May be UR ibuprofen: Ibuprofen is very irritating to the gastric lining of the stomach, especially when it's not taken with food. Please make sure that you are taking it with food, and not by itself. It is such a strong irritant. You may want to try stopping your ibuprofen altogether, and seeing whether the pain goes away immediately during the time that you're off it or not..

Itching: This is a nonspecific symptom that may simply be due to mild irritability of superficial nerves in the left side of your abdominal wall especially since there is no associated rash or pain. I doubt that it has a serious cause unless you develop widespread itchiness without associated rash. In that case you would be checked for diabetes, hyperthyroidism, electrolyte disorders,etc.

Pelvic pain: If the pain is severe and especially if there's associated tenderness, you should be examined by your gynecologist. You could be dealing with pelvic inflammatory disease or an ovarian cyst. Since there are no bowel symptoms, inflammatory colon disease is less likely.
