i've got tinnitus in my left ear. when i jump my left ear pops but when i touch/squeeze my left sternocleidomastoid muscle the popping stops and i feel i can breathe easier. could this be linked to my tinnitus? if so what treatment is recommended?

: Treatment depends on what is causing problem.  Someone needs to look in your ear-who knows what is normal.

i have left ear unilateral tinnitus. the other symptoms i've noticed is that when i open and close my jaw i hear clicks and crackles. when i jump my left ear pops - if i press my hand under my jaw the popping stops. what could be the tinnitus cause?

: What is described may result from fluid accumulation from inflammation in the inner ear. See an ENT physician for an exam and guidance.

3 weeks now when i lean forward, make certain movements, eat or move my head to the side my ear pops and others can hear it. saw my ent he said i had some inflammation behind my nose during my scope, but that's it.hurts at times. what else can it be?

: It is not feasible to better than the ENT who examined you. You try steam inhalation to facilitate the normal function of your eustachian tube.

i have severe neck pain right back side when i move it around. when the pain comes my right ear pops. and minimum arm numbness. its not sore?

Possible herniated: Disc.  Not sure.  Ear popping is due to your inner ear, middle ear and eustachian tube.  Your neck pain could be from your mastoids which is a bone next to your ear.  I would see a family doctor and ask if you need to see an ENT specialist.

: I assume there was no significant wax accumulation in your ear canal and no polyps present in nasal passages.  Inflammation high up behind the nasal passage can clog the eustachian tube and this can cause blocked hearing and various sounds with swallowing, etc. Did ENT recommend decongestant nasal spray or irrigations with ocean nasal spray? See ENT again if pain and/or other symptoms persist.

Eustacian Tube Dysfu: It appears as if you may have Eustacian Tube Dysfunction. This disorder involves pain in the ear that results from a build up of fluid behind the ear. This fluid can be a result of a sinus infection or allergies. Frequently, can be treated with allergy medication. The fluid may, even with treatment, may take 4-6 weeks to resolve.

for a while i have this wind sound in my left ear. when i swallow or just move. sometime there's a buzzing and popping sound. how can i make it stop?

Wax?: Do you use Q-tips?  If so, stop.  You may have packed wax in your ear canals and that can cause funny sounds.  Get checked and see if that is so.  Remember the old medical adage: "The only thing that goes in your ears is your elbow or a piano! "

: Normal people can often perceive a click/pop of their Eustachian tube with any jaw movement that straightens the tube. If allergies/cold or other factors have led to tube closure, the pop may not occur. There is little you can do to modify this tube activity.

Many things: See your doctor for complete evaluation asap, as this could represent a significant problem, since symptoms involve the head, neck, upper back, and extremities.

i have ear pops when lifting weights, what to do for treatment?

Accepted Answer

Air into middle ear: When you lift weights. Your abdominal muscles tighten the pressure in the back of your nose increases, driving air into the middle ear via the eustachian tube.  This is a normal physiological phenomenon.  This is the best explanation i can give you.  However, if the force of the air is great enough when you lift too much weight,  theoretically, you could perforate your ear drum.  Be careful.
