Possible: Any ulcer in the mouth heals with a whitish appearance as it heals.  So any ulcer of the ling of the mouth could have a whitish appearance.  A common ulcer is herpes, but it susally also is see on the lipis as well.

Needs testing: Sound like herpes simplex .
You need furhtur testing to confirm that, contact your doctor for the proper treatment.

Herpes: Mouth sores may be  herpes variants.  There are several ways to treat.  I prefer Valtrex (valacyclovir) 2grams by mouth twice a day for 1 day.

Oral ulcers: What type of ulcers?  Herpetic or aphthous?  Canker sores/aphthous ulcers signify no reason to worry, not transmitted sexually/not contagious.  Hsv type 1 or 2 which form vesicles that coalesce and the blister sloughs to leave denuded area and eventual scab.  Identify the type of sore first before worrying.

Oral Lesions: There are a number of things that can cause ulcers and/or lesions in the mouth. It's best to go to the dentist to do a thorough evaluation and diagnosis.

Aphthous ulcers: You may have canker sores also called aphthous ulcers. The cause is uncertain but there's some evidence that food allergy is involved. You could try a gluten free diet to see if that helps. In the end it would be worth getting a medical evaluation. A culture proves it.: If your doctor takes a culture of a mouth ulcer, and it shows herpes type 1, that's what it is. You can also have a blood test to confirm prior infection with herpes type l and/or type 2. Type 1 is usually oral, and type 2 is usually genital, but you can find either type in either location. If you get a blood test now and it's normal, repeat it in 2-3 months! use condoms/dental dams for safe sex.

Sores in mouth: Sores in the mouth can occur due to trauma (repetitive abrasion), viral infections, autoimmune diseases, etc... See your physician if continued concerns.

No way to say: hi, without evaluating the lesion up close there is no way to say what the lesion could be, if you had unprotected sex it's very well possible that you have contacted an STD, please see a provider for evaluation ASAP.

Canker sores: Canker sores are not herpes. Canker sores are not considered sexually transmitted disease.
