It can be very difficulty watching your peers have dramatic declines in functioning and attending funerals of your peers.  Many find it quite depressing as they gradually lose their physical and mental abilities.  Medicare covers mental health services so no reason to just suffer.

under 65 you may qualify if you are disabled or on dialysis.
