i had an allergic reaction to cipro (ciprofloxacin) and was prescribed to take prednisone 20mg  two tablets daily. how long till it clears my body?

The serum: elimination half time of cipro (ciprofloxacin) is about 4 hours in patients with normal renal function, which means half of the absorbed dose is eliminated every 4 hours.  Within 24 hours, it is essentially eliminated from the body.

cipro (ciprofloxacin) and mirapex can i take them together it feels like my heart is beating too fast and i can't catch my breath. also on prednisone?

Side effects: Certainly side effects of Mirapex (pramipexole) and prednisone. Consult with prescribing physician before continuing any further therapy.

can i take a pill of clonazepam 0.5 to sleep better if i am on cipro and prednisone (1 week after sinus surgery)?

Possible BUT: Clonazepam can be habituating and can gradually lose effect (tolerance).  Better it is avoided.  But have your doctors get directly involved and advise the best approach for you under the circumstances.

Many causes: Depending on how long this has been going on, there could be many explanations. Stress, depressed mood, anxiety, medications, viruses, pregnancy. Id see your doctor for more answers.

Many side effects: Yes, Prednisone alone can cause high blood pressure as well as diarrhea and affect  your blood sugar.

went to er/ bad stomach cramping (like contractions / not preg) and diarrhea that was that was mucousy & maybe bloody.  wbc (19000) and stool  shows white blood cells.  cipro (ciprofloxacin)? can't this cause c-diff?

Yes: Its less frequent with Ciprofloxacin than othman other types but can occur.  Remember, acid reducers like Omeprazole double the risk.  Metronidazole orally is the first treatment, vancomycin can be used as well.  There may be a role for probiotics but i don't want to mislead; good luck, that's a rough one around the holidays.

: You should contact your family doctor for advice. Ciprofloxacin is not often used for treating sinusitis unless you are diabetic and infection with gram negative organism such as pseudomonas, klebsiella, etc. is strongly suspected. Prednisone can be taken along with antibiotic if indicated. Good luck.

i have been diagnosed with diverticulitis .  how do i stop the diarrhea?  currently taking cipro (ciprofloxacin) and flagyl.

Check with MD: While diverticulitis can cause diarrhea, I would be more concerned that the prolonged antibiotics that you have taken has led to a condition of antibiotic-associated colitis, or C. difficle colitis.  This condition can be tested by bringing a stool specimen to the MD office and they will check for the toxin.  If it is present, a different antibiotic is given.  Please do this ASAP.

prednisone took away my chronic diarrhea problem, but then it returned 2 days later.  does that mean i have inflammation?  why did it fix my problem?

IBD: IBD can not be ruled lout but if that were thecase no judgement can be made on the basis of a 2 day prednisone course. I advise you to see your gastroenterologist

See a doctor: A gastrointestinal bleed caused by steroid induced ulcers should not cause overt blood or bloody diarrhea unless the bleeding is major.  Bloody diarrhea can occur from infections in the intestines such as e. Coli,  shigella, salmonella, amebiasis and others.  Some of these are more frequent or severe with the immunosuppressive qualities of steroids.
