i was wondering if its possible to catch something like rat lungworm or other worms and parasites via dropping a cigarette on the ground and putting it back in mouth?

Accepted Answer

: If what you drop falls onto an area where there are infectious organisms then yes it is possible to conract the infection. What Mama say don't put that in your mouth dear!  You are going to have to use your judgement on this one.  I might add "stop smoking" it is much worse for you than the parasite.

friend dog jumped on me and licked my mouth. dog is 2 yo. could i get worms or parasites from this? and how soon and how would i know?

Very unlikely: Worms or eggs of parasite is often found in dog's feces but not in saliva.

Wouldn't be parasite: If related to that event it would likely be viral or a bacteria. I suspect it is neither. If the kid is sick enough you would otherwise have him seen do so. If not give it some time to pass or get worse.

Intestinal?: Stromectol (ivermectin) is for intestinal parasite. On head and neck parasite needs proper and specific diagnosis. Did you travel abroad? why you think you may have a parasite on head and neck

Ped gi: Possibly esophageal regurgitation which can be treated. Seeing your peds doctor or pediatric GI doctor can be helpful.

Concern for fluoride: Soapy taste can be something as simple as different foods you may eat (cilantro or carrot) or a possible fluoride overdose. Fluoride is found in toothpaste as well as drinking water. Low levels are safe but high levels can be dangerous. Exposure to fluoride can be from working around insectides, water treatment or welding. It could also be due to other issues like reflux.
