Not necessarily: Skin rash is not an invariable feature of Mono,  though it does occur in some patients.

Yes: Mono can cause a wide spectrum of signs and symptoms. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. Wish you good health!

Med for mono???: If you take ampicillin or amoxicillin for strep while you have mono, you will get a rash all over. So you treat the strep with Penicillin VK, not ampicillin. You may also have a rash as part of mono. After mono is gone, you can take amoxicillin without a rash. I am glad the rash is clearing, so you may not need to do anything. Mono: mono doesn't usually flare up. Mono can come with complications including chronic fatigue and muscle aches. Try to make sure to drink a lot of water, do excercise to keep your body strong and eat healthy

Yes: Rash is only one symptom of mono. Other common symptoms would be swollen gland at many site, feeling tired and many other sign. If you think you have mono, you should see your doctor because other conditions could have similar symptoms and your doctor needs to sort them out.

Not certain: I do not believe that they have yet been able to determine exactly the mechanism why this occurs, but it does in many cases.  It can actually be used as a 'poor man's' way to diagnose it.  Not the best way though.  This reaction is not a classic allergy and people can still use Amoxil (amoxicillin) safely again afterwards if they could use it beforehand.  Ampicillin does the same but is not used as often.

Amoxicllin rash: Drug rashes tend (note this well) about 2-3 weeks. They will get redder when you work out, get out of a hot shower, get upset, or go out in the sun. The less you look, the quicker it goes!

Stop Amoxicillin: It is not uncommon for a patient with infectious  mononucleosis to develop a rash if they are given Amoxicillin or similar antibiotic. To treat, stop the offending antibiotic and give an antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or zyrtec/ Cetirizine to decrease itching.
