before i begin i have 2 auto immune diseases. i am immune compromised. i accidentally swallowed moldy water. i cant remember how much. the water smelled moldy. what do i do? also its hard for me to answer questions. sometimes im not able to answer?

Many: When you drank slimy water, there may be bacteria, parasite besides algae or mold present. If you have been sick for more than a day or are getting worse, see your doctor ASAP&gt;

i just drank some water that tasted funny.  i checked and my brita water filter was moldy! what should i do?

Replace the filter: And forget about it.  If you are otherwise healthy this tiny ingestion shouldn't cause you any problem.

Hmmm...: All kitchen tools should be reusable to some extent. As they say, "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." Otherwise, our trash heap keeps growing. Mold is not considered an infectious nasty germ (unlike salmonella or shigella) on an apple cutter. Therefore, rinsing "moldy apple" off of a cutter until the cutter looks clean should be clean enough for general purposes.

are water picks better than flossing? i do not like flossing and find it painful even though i have healthy gums. do water picks get moldy?

Both are best: If you are having pain when flossing then you need the Dentist or hygienist to observe you flossing and help correct any technique errors. It should not hurt in the least. Water Pik is excellent addition , and for some better than nothing if they refuse to floss. Keep it clean and dry, allow water to drain from hose. Good Luck.

Mold: Mold it is , not necessarily black mold! change your filter and wash everything with bleach.

my bathroom sink has black mold in and a tiny droplet of water near the mould splatted on my lips and i ate after. is this small amount dangerous?

Accepted Answer

No: What you described is not dangerous. 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.  Drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless.
Practice safe sex.

i just finished a bottle of water (cambel back with straw type) and noticed black (mold?) in the straw. do i need to go to the hospital or can i take pepto?

No: Do you otherwise feel ok?  I would disinfect the camel bak bladder or buy a new one. Drink plenty of water and monitor your symptoms. You should be fine. This actually happens far more common than you would think. Make it a habit of cleaning your hydration systems. I only put plain water in mine, which helps to prevent this, but it still needs cleaning.

how long do i soak my dentures in clorox & water to get rid of black mold?

Black Mold: It is doubtful that you actually have black mold on your dentures. It is more likely that you have staining or calculus deposits which have stained from coffee, tea, tobacco, etc. It might be a good idea to have your dentist take a look at your dentures. Deposits like i described should be removed mechanically, since Clorox will not remove them. Dentures which are old may have absorbed bacteria.

is too much water bad?

Accepted Answer

It can be bad: Drinking too much water can lead to severe disturbances of electrolytes in your blood which can cause devastating medical problems. Your best bet is to drink pure water whenever you are thirsty. If you are going to be working outside in a hot environment then drinking enough water to prevent thirst is ok. Just don't over do it.
