Lots of side effects: it is a potent steroid cream and not to be used for things like sensitive skin. It has both local effects on skin fro thinning to bruising and stretch marks to systemic effects affecting whole body including suppression of adrenal glands and suppression of immune system. Kojic acid : Kojic acid has bleaching potential and as such try it on discolored skin for a limited period of time (usually 6 weeks).

my dr. rx'd triamcinolone cream 2x/day for poison ivy rash. are there any side effects or is it usually well tolerated w/out any adverse effects?

Accepted Answer

Not really: This is a moderate potency steroid cream and little if any will penetrate the skin and effect your body. It can decrease the angry irritation of the rash and reduce itching. Many use it for that purpose.You may be able to get similar benefit from a product called IVY DRY sold OTC at many box stores.

Facial moisturizer: You don't need to use a facial moisturizer especially if your skin is normal or oily. If it is dry, you may to keep it soft and pliable. Cream moisturzer does clog pores, so if you're suffering from acne or other skin issues, consult with dermatologist prior to using those products.

Renova (tretinoin): When using renova, (tretinoin) you should begin to notice your skin becoming smoother and softer within the first month or two. Within three to four months, you may notice a reduction in fine facial wrinkles. Additional benefits should be apparent within five to six months of therapy. This is a prescription medication.

Yes: I often recommed cetaphil or aquafor but aveno is okay. Use it sparingly. Putting things on the face can cause rashes too.

I usually: suggest applying moisturizer IN BETWEEN applications of the Hydroquinone! If you apply once/day wait for 12 hours to apply the moisturizer.....

Sunscreen first.: You should always put the sunscreen first as you want it to absorb. Then you put on the moisturizer, since most of them simply provide a moisture loss barrier.

Start simple: General advise: Drink at least 64oz of water daily(Best way to improve skin). A lemon face mask is a simple way to cleanse. Apply 1 TBSP of fresh lemon, let dry and wipe off using cloth&amp;clean water(May sting at 1st). Borage/ flaxseed oil capsules improve dullness (Wonderful). Aloe vera based natural creams are best for night application. Ask your dermatologist for specific creams for your skin.

i have dandruft and sobberic dermatitis. bought nezoral last week. what is the shampp that i can use daily? and is there a moisturizer cream to help?

Ketoconazole: The generic, ketoconazole, is the same as Nizoral, only cheaper. Can wash with it every day, including face. Moisturizer does not help seborrheic dermatitis. If this is not satisfactory a dermatologist will help you.
