Not unusual: Mitral disease- leakage or mitral regurgitation can be very gradual until very serious or it can happen acutely with a cordal rupture etc!  inmthe long course patients are fatigued  and have heart failure and swelling. Any heart ailment is depressing and more to some folks.
Get fixed and be better!

: Beta blockers may help suppress ventricular irritability for you, but amiodarone or sotalol are often more effective but reserved for serious arrythmias.  I wouldn't think statins or ACE inhibitors would contribute anything in your case. I'm uncertain that operating on mitral valve prolapse would  prevent PVCs or NSVT episodes. An electrophysiologist cardiologist would be best to advise you

Rarely a severe leak of the valve leads to surgical repair/replacement and could impact child bearing.

MVP: Mvp is a condition in which there is laxity in the valve structures. When there is laxity in the system, the valve can pouch backwards or "prolapse" which can result in leaking of the valve. While usually mild, if the valve leaks enough the heart can eventually fail. More rarely, a tethering chord holding the valve can rupture suddenly and cause severe leaking which can be life threatening.
