Rarely: It is exceptionally rare but has been reported. (i've been in practice as a cardiologist for &gt;35 years and have never seen a single case).

MVP: Mitral valve prolapse generally does not produce severe frequent stabbing chest pain. If this is occurring you should seek immediate medical attention.

MVP &amp; anemea: MVP &amp; anemea  don't cause ea other, anemia has many types such as iron defeciency, aplastic, pernicious, anemia due to sepsis,  hemolytic for example sickle cell anemia,  thalassemias &amp; other hemoglobinopathies, spherocytosis &amp; so on, having anemea  will most likely  aggravate  MVP symptoms. Not usually: MVP doesn't cause the heart to enlarge, but mitral regurgitation which accompanies MVP does and if it has, should be carefully evaluated for possible mitral valve repair with echocardiography. Be sure to keep your BP well controlled.

Prolapse : Mvp is not necessarily symptomatic. Your chest ache may well have a musculoskeletal or no cardiac cause.

No problem...: There is no danger of taking FluMist to this minor abnormality of your mitral valve.  Flumist contains a live, weakened flu virus, so you should not take this form of the vaccine if you have a problem with your immune system.  You should also avoid the flu vaccine if you have had a severe allergic reaction to eggs.  Your heart should be just fine!

Doubt it: Mitral valve prolapse is a disorder of the mitral valve where the leaflets close abnormally. The majority of prolapse patients have no issues with their prolapse. It does increase the risk of developing mitral regurge in the future. It affects nearly 10% of people. Depression is also common at 3-5% of people. There are many more likely stressors leading to depression. There is no proven connection.

It can contribute: To palpitations but your symptoms are concerning.  How much regurgitation of mitral valve on echocardiogram?  Talk to your physician.
