Stress can affect: cycles. If not pregnant, could be polycystic ovaries/ insulin resistance, or other causes. Missing periods, can cause an abnormal build up in the uterine lining, and should be treated.

If the test is negative, and you still don't  start your period, you should see your doctor for further eval.   Other possible causes could be infection,  hormonal imbalances, fibroids, polyps, and cancer.

There are many options to regulate the cycle.
