Misbehavior: A child, usually in the toddler age-18 months - 4 yrs of age, child may display behaviors out of normal range:
tantrums without stopping, not being consoled thru usual means, hurting others or themselves, any unusual consistent misbehavior. This should be assessed by a developmental pedi MD for other signs of abnormality as well to refer for help.

Redirect/ time out: Moble toddlers will certainly test boundries often & require limit setting. Physicaly removing them from activities you find troublesome & placing them in front of toys you want them to use gives them redirection. Stopping their activity and holding them still for 1min/yr (use timer with bell) with release after bell teaches them which behaviors stop their fun.

Try this: If your child has behavioral problems in other settings, such as day care, schools, friends homes etc, when you are not present this is a red flag.If only with you present, it still is a problem, but less likely to be an emotional disorder.

On the other hand, it could be peer pressure.

Bad idea: Add medications should be used to treat add. However, there are children who misbehave due to impulsivity (reacting prior to thinking). Impulsivity can be treated with medication. I would strongly consider consulting with a child psychiatrist for child therapist to investigate your options.

Yes: This is common behavior, and it's important to address it with your child.  No need to be harsh, but be consistent and help him understand the problems with lying in ways he can understand.  He only sees the benefits at this point.
