i just started minigynon 30 about 19 days ago. do i take the 7 day break or just start my new pack?

Minigynon: I assume the pack contains 28 pills, usually the first 21 days pills are active pills and the last week pills are inactive pills, so just continue the pack and start the next pack if you want to continue the contraception.

2 months expired pack of minigynon 30. is it safe to take them now?

Accepted Answer

Not recommended: It is not recommended to use any prescribed medications after they are expired as their safety or efficacy cannot be guaranteed.

i was prescribed a 6 day medrol pack. after taking the first 2 pills and reading some peoples experiences i decided to stop before i got too far. am i safe or should i worry about anything since i took the 2 initial 4mg pills?

: You should be fine. While ideally a person taking methylprednisolone would complete a complete course, taking only two pills is not typically a problem. More problematic is the pt who take multiple courses of the steroid and needs to be weaned off slowly. Since the medication was prescribed for a specific therapeutic reason, check with your Dr for an alternative treatment.

am i well protected during the first couple days or week into my second pack of bc pills?

Yes: If you are taking them once a day then your birth control pills are effective on every day

whenever you start a pack of bc pills, do you always have to use back up method in first week of every pack?

No: This is a good practice when starting on the very first pack.  It is not necessary every month

i take nortrel 28 day. i thought yesterday was sunday and took my first pill from a new pack. what do i do now?

Don't worry: You started a new pack a day early.  No worries.  Just keep taking your pills every day (but a day early) for the rest of the month.  You can start again on Sunday with your next pack.  Best wishes!

Pretty good. : If you're having unprotected sex, then the likelihood is rather high.

missed a pill on the first saturday of my new pack. i usually take my pills at 9pm but i took it at 9am on sunday morning am i ok?

Probably: if you are taking a combined estrogen/progesterone pill, and took all of the first 7 pills on time, the you will likely be ok. Unless you miss 3 pills of combined pills you shouldn't need back up contraception or Plan B. If you are taking the "mini" pill (progesterone only pill, micronor) then you will need a backup method of contraception for this cycle (condoms) with 1 missed dose to be safe.

had my 7 day pill free break, and took my first pill of my new pack the next day, and had sex the day after. will that one pill protect me?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If you are taking your birth control pills correctly, you are not ovulating.  You are protected as long as you are taking your pills everyday even through the placebo or pill free days.

switching from pill to depo.first injection will be given when i am on the 12th day of my pack. do i keep taking pills and how long until protected?

Accepted Answer

7 days : You are probably protected immediately but it is reasonable to use condons for 7 days after getting Depo-Provera
