Pancreatitis: Can be induced by excessive triglycerides. If you have baseline elevation than add milk in large quantities possible.

my son age 14 loves non-fat milk & drinks 2-3 glasses/day.  is that too much? what is the right amount to drink? how does this change as we age?

Accepted Answer

Milk: As long as it is non-fat or skim milk, that isn't a problem. He will get his calcium for strong bones and teeth. Just make sure he is eating a variety of healthy foods as well. The fat in whole milk is not particularly healthy after toddlerhood, because it is high in cholesterol and saturated fats, so we switch to skim milk at 2 years old.

No.: There are no "rules" about when to drink milk. If you are referring to how long milk can be at room temperature before drinking, then yes, that depends on environmental conditions, specifically temperature (which is affected by humidity) and whether or not it is exposed to bacteria (dirty cup/bottle, open container exposed to toxic fumes etc).

i prefer chocolate milk drink when i was a kid. now that i'm 21, i bought vanilla milk drink and i experienced lbm, is it possible to develop intoleranc?

Yes: Intolerance to a food or some component of the food can be present at or near birth, develop later or be transient after some infection of the intestines. Intolerance to the  sugar in most milk, lactose acts this way. Avoiding lactose  or taking a supplemental enzyme can stop symptoms. You may also have a specific problem with another component  of the vanilla milk.

Milk &amp; dairy: products can trigger heartburn in some people. Food  triggers may include chocolate, corn, fried foods, 
dairy, fatty food, potato chips, creamy or oily dressings, marbled sirloin, high fat bakery items, raw onions, tomatoes, potatoes, spearmint, &amp; peppermint. Orange, cranberry or grapefruit juice &amp; lemons or lemonade can be problematic.

is it ok to put probiotic supplements in milk & drink the the curdled milk the next day?i dont have kefir grains?will this process develop some grain?

Quality probiotics: Take probiotic tab or capsule in between meals.
Plain yogurt 8 oz twice daily.
Do not mix milk with anything.
Probiotics are bacteria or yeast having beneficial effect on digestion &amp; immune function by binding sites on mucosal surfaces &amp; by producing chemicals that inactivate or kill pathogens.

Yes: Drinking a coconut/almond milk drink will cause an increase in insulin, because there are carbohydrates (sugars) in the drink.

Ginger: Ginger is pretty safe. It can interfere with some medications like warfarin and can cause GI irritation. However if you are not having any issues with it or over doing it you should be fine to enjoy your drink!
