Induction: You need to be strong if you are going to enlist or be commissioned. Thus, you can not afford to rapidly lose weight (along with lots of muscle mass). Recommend  working with a trainer & setting realistic goals. The carrot at the end of the stick is that you will be able to enter the military when you meet requirements. Good luck.

Obtaining a medical: waiver depends on a # of things such as what the condition is (some are not waiverable), how severe, if it has been corrected or if it has resolved.

Yes, potentially: It depends what your goals are. Are you trying to go into a military academy, SF, or obtain diving or airborne status? You need pretty much perfect vision, and can't be colorblind. If you are aiming to go into a branch of the military with different interests, your MOS may allow some deficits in acuity that are correctable with lenses. The military also will not accept degenerative conditions.

If the misdiagnosed: Condition is disqualifying for enlistment/ conditioning - then it would be need to be well clarified before hand with a waiver request. If the issues is just that you don't agree with diagnosis - then that will not get your waivered.

Military Diet: The military diet (AKA 3 day diet) is a short term diet plan. A specific low calorie diet menu is spelled out &amp; is to be used 3 days per week. Food choices are provided for four “days off” totaling 1,500 calorie intake per day. The diet promises that you can lose up to ten pounds in a week. I would be concerned about how low the calorie intake is on this diet as well as the possibility of &gt;

Losing weight: To lose weight insure that calories burned &gt; calories consumed. Drink at least 8  - 8 oz glasses of water per day. Try for 8 hours of sleep/night.  Aim for at least 5 servings of vegetables &amp; 4 servings of fruit per day. Use whole grain when possible. Avoid sodas, alcohol &amp; junk carbohydrates. Get in a good mix of aerobic &amp; weight lifting exercises.  Good Luck !
