Bad: Severe preeclampsia is a marked increase in blood pressure along with swelling and protein in your urine.  It can have serious consequences for you and/or the baby.  Hellp syndrome is a variation of severe pre eclampsia that has hemolysis, elevated liver tests and low platelets that can be very dangerous.  Most women with hellp or severe preeclampsia are delivered shortly.

Pre-eclampsia...: So sorry for your loss - that must have been tragic. The only advice is that no two pregnancies are the same, and while you need to be closely monitored, the risk is still very low that the same thing will happen again. But there are no guarantees in life or death. I would recommend a pre-conception visit with maternal-fetal medicine specialist to review risks and options for healthiest pregnancy.

Difficult question: There is a form of brain aneurysm that is caused by chronic hypertension.  However, other aneurysms are congenital and can rupture during bouts of temporary hypertension.  Generally pregnancy induced hypertension is not dangerous and is well tolerated.  Mri can look for congenital forms of aneurysm, but careful blood pressure management is appropriate regardless.

could a traumatic birth (umbilical cord wrapped around the infants neck and almost dying/mother had preeclampsia and also almost died) cause the baby to develop severe, treatment resistant obsessive compulsive disorder as a toddler/in childhood?

: I can't put the two issues together as cause and effect. What I have seen with such a history is mild disorders of movement/CP as the brain areas controlling movement are more susceptible to that sort of injury.

Let's hear OB's: While I would defer this to my OB colleagues, my understanding is with SEVERE pre-eclampsia that delivery is still indicated even if blood pressure comes down. Blood pressure is not the only thing they are concerned about with this disorder, and if yours is severe as you elude to, I don't think just getting BP controlled would by the fix. Love to hear from OB colleagues!

Yes, you should: Consult a high risk obstetrician, preferably a  Materno-Fetal Medicine team (MFM) specializing in pregnancies complicated by hypertensive disorders and severe preeclampsia ASAP. Since there are significant short term and long term  risks to your health as well as to the health of both of your children, careful monitoring will be needed to give you and them  the best outcome possible.

Induction of labor: Your OB GYN doctor will continue to work with you to monitor the health of baby and the severity of the preeclampsia. Depending on the findings, they may consider inducing labor earlier. They weigh the risks of prematurity against the risks of preeclampsia complications.

Urgent exam: These sound like more than simple floaters and could signify retinal detachment. Get examined as soon as possible at an ophthalmologists office or at an eye clinic as it may well be an eye emergency.
