Typical: This is typical in your age group.  By age 50, the large majority of men (especially athletes) with have some degree of rotator cuff injury.  My orthopedic colleague once told me, "if you're 35, and not pitching in the big leagues, then just live with it."  obviously that's very general, but rest and physical therapy to strengthen the shoulder should suffice and surgery may not be needed.

Potentially: It is theoretically possible, but also rare to have an isolated tear if popliteus tendon.  Much more likely to pull distal hamstring or other posterior structures.  Don't hesitate to be seen and possibly get an MRI if you are having trouble with it.

Physical therapy.: Your musculature may have become weakened with the complete rest. You may benefit from physical therapy. Consult your doctor to see if that would be apropriate for you.

Quinolone?: Are you on any antibiotic with Floxin at the end?  If so, this would be the likely cause for your problem.   If not, consult an orthopedist.

i have levaquin (levofloxacin) induced bilateral achilles tendinopathy. tendon pain fluctuates while medial side calf pain and tenderness is constant. is this normal?

No, Pain is never --: Normal, but maybe understandable as to why it occurs.
Such conditions do end up with frank ruptures of the tendons, so avoid excessive activities, but importantly get yourself seen by an orthopod, who can have you in ankle boots to prevent excessive achilles tendon excursions and to allow things to settle down. I would use them for at least 6 weeks.

left leg hamstring feels soft compared to right leg all throughout motion even when trying to flex or stretch. limited range of motion with flexion causing pain in hamstring and quadriceps. odd feeling when sitting. tendinopathy vs tendon rupture?

: Difficult to discern with the information provided.  I can say that a tendinopathy is often from mechanical overuse while a tendon rupture from an acute event.  Also, tendinopathy, while possible in any tendon, does not commonly occur in the hamstring tendon.  I advise seeing your primary care provider or a physical therapist for a careful evaluation.

Yes: You could feel the gap if it is large enough most often in a full rupture.

Accepted Answer

: You have mild bursitis. Try acetaminophen for pain relief, no more than 4 gm in one day, no alcohol.
